Soul Food for the Spirit

I guess that you could say that I have been browsing (nothing serious) for training or a certification program in Art Therapy. I have no formal knowledge really about what Art Therapy is but I am somehow convinced that it would be of interest to me.

After spending 75% of my life in school, I have had enough of it, at least for a while. So I think I shall prefer to make up my own philosophy and approach to Art Therapy. That sounds like way more fun.

I think that Art as Therapy has more to do with the experience of creating, experimenting with materials, and immersing oneself in color and solace, rather than any emphasis on the final result. Although, if one is lucky enough to have been blessed (which is really what having a gift or talent is all about) then you will have a "take away to display" as well.

My real point here is that Making Art is always therapeutic. It keeps a healthy spirit alive and is nourishment for the hurting soul.
And by the way, here is side 2 of the bag. It is now signed, though I may feel the need to make some minor changes when I look at it tomorrow.

"God grant me the serenity to accept the things that I cannot change, the courage to change the things that I can, and the wisdom to know the difference."

Over time I've learned not to fight a lot of things, including what my art looks like. Today, it comes from my soul and I allow it only to be source of joy. It has become one of my essential ingredients for happiness.

While my paintings are escapism, the real world reminds me daily of the work we have yet to do and the purpose that we serve. “To whom much is given, much is expected.” - Luke 12: 48

"Had lots of fun being a quirky artiste for a day! There was a cool band that played some great classic rock tunes. The temperature was well into the nineties. I loved basking in the sunshine. If you enjoy talking about art, this is a really easy way of meeting interesting people."
