About Me

Another Original by Tamara: The Blog profile is probably the most underdeveloped and underviewed page. I was the unusual high school student who squeezed in 2 art classes in one day in between her physics and calculus classes. Later, I became the "wannabe art major" who took the dreaded Intro to Art and other art classes just for fun. Today, I have a Ph.D. in social work and it's a daily struggle making the choice to wear professional attire to the office. Periodically, I regress back into my more creative fashions and expressive era. For instance, in its previous life, the skirt I am wearing was once a pair of Tommy Hilfiger blue jeans. I designed them into a fringed skirt with deep slits both up the front and back and then added my omnipresent flowers on them with fabric paint. Its a great conversation piece, which I am not always convinced is a good thing. But now you know where quirky comes into play.

No, It's Not an Archaeological Find

Aztec and Mayan Pieces are for the collector of rare art. I think their appeal is in the deceptive simplicity of their designs. They are two very different civilizations but whose art is difficult to distinguish by most. This is my first experiment with their geometrical shapes and colors. It has had surprisingly pleasant reviews thus far. I have plans for more attempts to capture the heart of their art.

Yes, these are real Hershey miniature candy kisses. A great pic that was a photography class homework assignment by Mia's World Photography, Inc. I thought it was fantastic the minute that I saw it. Things of which artists' dreams are made!

Gets a 9 on the Quirky Scale

Red is the power color for one of the Gemini twins of my zodiac. She is the one who picked the shades for the Blog Format and inspired the name of the web address. Blue is the fav color of the other Gemini Twin, the Peacemaker. Not exactly mainstream either. Whoever heard of blue pine cones? But I love ‘em.
