Love Those Easter Egg Colors!
I was supposed to wait until my backyard was no longer a giant mud puddle before I ventured outdoors. This is the time of the year when my RainGarden is very functional but not so pretty. However, I just could not wait any longer to get outside, especially after being cooped up all winter long, And I would not be deterred, even with that swamp thing going on after all the snow and rain. I had this yummy 9 grain bread that I wanted to share with my feathered friends or maybe leave as a snack for a hungry deer. This was all against my better judgement of course, because sometimes
one attracts the wrong critters with one's invitation to dinner. I tell a really funny story about me going after a rat snake with a shovel. Very glad I lived to talk about it. Seriously. Not so funny at the time.Anyways, I also wanted to get outside to begin my fitzer repairs. I know, a funny name for a shrub. They are supposed to be hardy but here's a helpful hint for you from my professional landscaping friends. Save all those old nylon stockings. You know, the ones that you wear only once before they get a runner. They are amazingly strong when wrapped around tree trunks to support those broken limbs. They are soft and durable without causing further injury. I guess its the same principle as a sling.I throw all my old stockings in baggies that have those amazing zipper lock inventions. Then I label it: "Will never wear again...colors too pretty to throw away. " So, lemon yellow, hunter green, cobalt blue, and lime green stockings have all now dressed up my landscaping. LOL. And just in time because everyone deserves a new Easter Sunday outfit. And a HAPPY ST. PATTY'S DAY to you!"The moments of happiness we enjoy take us by surprise. It is not that we seize them, but that they seize us."― Ashley Montagu

Over time I've learned not to fight a lot of things, including what my art looks like. Today, it comes from my soul and I allow it only to be source of joy. It has become one of my essential ingredients for happiness.
" The 3 essential elements of happiness are something to do, something to love, and something to hope for."

“First I dream my painting. Then I paint my dream” – Vincent van Gogh.
While my paintings are escapism, the real world reminds me daily of the work we have yet to do and the purpose that we serve. “To whom much is given, much is expected.” - Luke 12: 48
