Yin Yang

Here is another example of something that I soooo had not planned. Perhaps a reflection of my mood. This was a totally brand new shirt as opposed to a gently used one, which is what I usually use in case I mess up. This is what happens when I try too hard. The tense mindset becomes the first pitfall. The second one is being impatient, trying to rush because I can't wait very long to see what the final product will look like. Both factors unravelled here. Not a very good combination.

So, I try to pull myself back together while trying to loosen up a bit. I remind myself to relax and to just let it flow. Striking the balance between "thinking" and "not thinking". Seriously working hard while maintaining a laissez-faire attitude. Drawing on that Gemini personality. Holding on to my belief that everything is recoverable and that mistakes generate creativity.

It helped me already figure out what I shall do (or not do) on the next top that I paint.

Here is the result. A really wild, faux brocade/paisley top. Yep, certainly an original this time but now not sure who is going to wear it.

Remember that you are unique, just like everyone else.

Over time I've learned not to fight a lot of things, including what my art looks like. Today, it comes from my soul and I allow it only to be source of joy. It has become one of my essential ingredients for happiness.

" The 3 essential elements of happiness are something to do, something to love, and something to hope for."

While my paintings are escapism, the real world reminds me daily of the work we have yet to do and the purpose that we serve. “To whom much is given, much is expected.” - Luke 12: 48

"Had lots of fun being a quirky artiste for a day! There was a cool band that played some great classic rock tunes. The temperature was well into the nineties. I loved basking in the sunshine. If you enjoy talking about art, this is a really easy way of meeting interesting people."
